I had a problem with my door key and thought it was the key that was
the problem.  I then lost the remote so had a guy come from the dealer
and he gave me a new remote and made a couple of keys and then those
keys didn't work either and he said something was wrong with my lock.
I asked if he could fix it and he said that they have about four
motors in them.  Has anyone had experience with this and how much does
it typically cost to fix a door lock?  someone probably tampered with
it

Of the dozens of models Volvo has made over the last 80 years or so, it
would be helpful to know which one you have.

Click on his profile.

One of his posts says he has a 98 S70 GLT.

His profile? There is no concept of profiles on usenet, I take it he's
accessing this group through one of the portal services out there.

most of us, I hope, come here for answers to questions
I don't know of anyone who has either a remote or a dealer servicing
their kitchen door or who would post about that on a volvo usenet
group

Oh - I thought it was his front door with problems and was going to
suggest using the kitchen door for the time being.

Mine is a 98 V40 2.0 and a couple of months ago I took it into the body-
shop for some TLC and bits of paint, so it looks pretty smart now.
(Haven't a clue about your door locks unfortunately.)

While @ your local Volvo dealer to purchase the master window switch ask
them how much a door lock costs most dealers charge 1 hour to install
the door lock
