Sounds like one of two problems. The Idle air motor can stick. Sometimes
taking the hose off and spraying WD40 or some kind of rust breaker into it
will free it up The other problem could be the throttle position sensor.
With the car off, go under the bonnet and open the throttle by hand, You
should hear a slight click as you open it indicating that the switch is
opening, That doesen't mean it is good, just that it is set properly.. Good
luck.
Thanks Rod,
I've taken the throttle body off and given it a dam good clean (without
removing the switch or getting it wet). New gasket fitted when I put it all
back together. Throttle position sensor does click as soon as you open it
up. Still the same.
Do you know of any weblinks re the idle air motor so that I know what
I'm looking at? I did'nt want to go spraying WD40 down the wrong pipe!!
Cheers
Steve
ps
Local Dealer charges ?79/hr to "Have a look" Rather do it myself & spend the
money on new parts!

Should be hung under the throttle body somewhere, right? If I can find it, I
give it a little squirt!
