My 94 850 wagon is great.  A minor annoyance: the driver side front
windshield wiper misses a huge area each time it sweeps across.  I changed
the blades, I watched carefully:  it looks like the whole arm is lifting
away from the windshield.  Is this likely a lose mounting bolt? How do I
get to the motor?

It's not the motor. Funnily enough, this is a not-uncommon problem.
Here's what to do:

The arm itself warps.  Why?  I don't know.  Poor engineering/material
selection by Volvo and/or Bosch(who made the arms).  It seems to be a
driver's side thing.  Weird.

You can rebend the darn thing, but it will eventually distort again.

I finally replaced the one on my '96 850 with an aftermarket part by
ScanTech which looks identical to the Volvo/Bosch part.  I am hoping that
the ScanTech replacement will not bend itself.   Bought mine at:

Installation is very easy.
