the driver's door has decided to make an annoying popping noise on
opening and closing- i know it has to do with the spring loaded arm
that keeps the door from hitting you if you are parked on an angle;
the arm is attached to the door frame and extends into the door
itself- and apparently is supposed to roll over some sort of roller-
that appears to be the "broken" part. the part can be seen inside the
door, but i am not sure if it has become unwelded, unscrewed, or just
plain broken. anyone ripped the door panel off that can give me some
advice or warning on what i will find inside the door?? thanks so much

Hi, The spring operated part which holds the door open needs replacing. I
did the same thing for my car of the same year and model as yours. I would
have the new part on hand at the time so that when you have the door panel
off and the old one out, you will have the replacement ready to put in. Good
luck, you can do it. Brad

A lot of times this noise is eliminated by tightening the 2 screws at
the front of the door where the stop arm is attached to the frame.
