I am interested in the front wheel drive XC90 with the 2.5 T. I don't need
the AWD -either the extra weight/gas mileage penalty or the additional
maintenance issues.
I was wondering who out there has this combo and how they like it or not.
I like the flexible cargo area and will not be hauling 6 other people or
towing heavy loads, just bulky ones .
Thanks!

I test-drove the XC90 2.5T and the T6 a while ago, and I would not
recommend it. This is a heavy SUV, and the 208 hp engine gives very
sluggish acceleration. The T6 is better, but still not very good.
I've been driving an 2004 S60 2.5T with the same engine (and I think
the same turbo). The turbo lag is very distinct. But this is a lighter
car, so once the turbo kicks in acceleration is quite good. On the
XC90 it was just awful.

I drove the XC90, then the Acura MDX. I have an MDX in my garage now.
If you go price/feature or just price, it wasn't too hard of a decision.

There are alot of recalls on the XC90. If you look it up you will find only
1. Recall 135. Volvo decided to add sub catagories. So it,s actually recall
135 A,B,C,D, and so on. Wait a couple years until Ford has worked out a few
of the bugs.
