Do I remember someone in here saying that 240 seats have interchangeable
backs? I just got a second hand one from a scrappy to replace the broken
backed original. My original seat base is in much better nick that the
replacement. Can I mix and match? With that adjuster wheel I get the
impression of the old "alarm clock syndrome" where if you undo the wrong bit
springs and bits ping everywhere.

"Why of course the people don't want war. But after all, it is the
leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a
simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or
a fascist dictatorship, Voice or no voice, the people can always be
brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to
do is to tell them that they are being attacked, and denounce the
pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

Yep, it's pretty easy actually. Cut the wire rings holding the upholstery on
and roll it up a bit, you'll see the bolts on each side that hold the
seatback to the base containing the adjustment mechanism. There's 3 bolts on
each side then the whole back assembly comes right off. You can even mix and
match the later style seatbacks with the early style cussions and vise-versa
but the upholstery is unique to the seatback style. When you're finished,
use those little nylon zip ties to hold the upholstery back down.
