Rear Hatch latch open/close sensor on 1998 V70

Hello,

Apparently the rear hatch latch has a sensor in it that tells the dash if
the latch is open or closed. My second one has just failed in 3 years and at
$200 cdn a pop it seems excessive when the latch itself works great.

Is there some way to just repair the sensor instead of the whole latch?

Hello,
Just remove the lock and replace the small switch inside the lock.
