Hi all,

I have a '98 V40 TD, in the last 2 mounth i have a strange problem.

After 30/40 km on a freeway at approximately 100 kmh the car remains
accelerated for 1 second when i change gear from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th
and so on.

It appens also at low speed.

Of course if i drive in city the problem don't apperars also after a
lot of hour of driving.

Somebody has the some problem?
Someone suggest me a pump problem....

thx
Davide

Do you have a cable operated accelerator or is it a "wireless" device? If
either then you need to check out the throttle return mechanism which
appears to stick momentarily.

Cheers, Peter.

It's an old '98 volvo with cable operated accelerator, but the cable
mechanism is ok. The car remains accelerated also if the accelerator come
back in release position.

Thx

Then most probably something is sticking in the pump part of the mechanism.

Cheers, Peter.
