Hello Volvo group,

My boyfriend's mother has decided it is finally time to let go of her
240 wagon. She'd really like for it to go to a Volvo fan who'd use it
for parts or fix it up again... She's not mechanicallly inclined and has
too much on her plate to take this on at this stage in her life.

Where should she (well, me really) post this car? We tried Craigslist
but didn't find the right audience there. It isn't about the money - she
wants to be sure the car finds the right home.

Thanks for any help,
Charlotte

The chance that she will give eBay her checking account info is nil.

Is there any other _active_ volvo sales forum?

Thanks!

The goal when driving is to miss the maximum number of objects.

Post the location and the condition of the car here, someone may want it.

Sure, the car is in Fairfield County, CT (near New York City).

The condition, as I understand condition scoring, is fair or poor.
However, the engine starts every time. It works mechanically, but the
electric windows no longer work, the drivers' side door handle doesn't
work, I think the heater fan doesn't work. The radio does work.

I have some digital photos of the body, the body panels are in great
shape. It is a blue wagon. The inside looks ok, it is an old car and has
recently just been used for tasks like hauling hay so I don't know what
it would look like when vaccumed, etc.

I think she is the only owner, though I don't know that for sure. She's
your typical "little old lady" driver. For a few years she commuted with
it but the odometer no longer works so I don't know what the mileage is.

She's asking $240 for it. She invented that number based on the model
number. I think she'd take much less for it, especially if she knew it
was going to be "recycled" to make another volvo continue running.

If anyone is interested, please email me at chrliegrl AT yahoo DOT com
and I'll give you her phone number, mail you pics, etc.

I recently walked away from my old 240.  one dark rainy morning, a big dirty
dump truck just kept coming over.  i kept moving over until i bumped the big
curb.  twice, quickly trying to move away.  the last time, i tried to get up
onto the curb.  tore hell out of the front end and bent the frame.

was looking for a shrink specializing in clients losing their 240s <s> .. .
.  but found it cheaper to buy a nice 960.
