Hi All;

My Radio areal has gone the same as an old 740 I ran for years. It
jams, will not properly extend, doesn't park properly. I use to oil
these but went off the idea as this seems to choke them with grit un
grime. Running them dry returns the same problems.

Any tips on how to deal with the rogue? The areal comes out of the boot
OK but cannot seems to get into the guts of the thing to wash and dry.

Regards
Ian

Can you try to  speak either english or a definitive other language
because I tried to figure what is an "areal" and ... even with Google I
couldn't find anything realted to radio or Volvo.

Just because you do not know how to spell aerial correctly does not give you
the right to moan at what was obviously a slip of the typing finger (typo).
This is just what you have done with "realted" instead of related.

Cheers, Peter.

Replace the antenna mast (areal as you say). I did this, just the mast.
Can get the mast alone and need not get the whole assembly. Mast alone
is much lower cost and can be had after market for even less. Got one
here in the US for under $20.  About an hour to do it, I had to
dissassemble the housing as there was some of the old bits in there that
could only be removed that way. If you are handy it is a straight
forward job.

Here is a link I found with photos
