Going to check one out later on today. Looks in top shape with under 80K.
Silver with black interior. I believe this must be the  2.3L 246 hp I5
engine right?

Anything I should look for? Any history of probs? Any help/links
appreciated.

My past Volvos:

1980 DL  525K
1981 DL  310K
1986 740 GLE 245K

If it was driven with a spare tire or the front and rear tires were not
rotated religiously, it could have smoked the AWD mechanism.  Apparently
that is fairly common because lots of people keep bad mouthing "viscous
coupling" which a '99 V70 AWD would have and that is about the only
problem viscous coupling has.  In general, the '99 & '00 V70 are
considered the best used Volvos on the market and among the best used
cars on the market.  See if it had regular dealer service.  It it did,
see if they will let you see the service history and see if the tires
were religiously rotated or there were other problems.

how much $ are they asking?
Vector Newman - 01 Apr 2005 23:59 GMT
I can get it for about $6500. Way below retail. Body is mint. New tires.
Drivers seats a bit worn on edges but, interior otherwise great. Not a huge
fan of the suede seats but.....I think the price is real good. I have a
great Volvo mechanic going to look at it Monday.

I had a 1999 Saab 95 with the V6 Turbo overnight. Fantastic driving car.
Superb suspension. Great steering. No turbo lag to speak of. Positively the
best brakes I've ever had the pleasure of pouncing on too! However, my
mechanic ( who works only on Volvos and Saabs ) said they have problems with
seat heaters/heating/warning display giving false warnings and sure enough,
those things popped up. I could have had it for $6500. I wanted it. But, I
wasn't going to let all the positives blind me to the huge repair bills it
appeared to be headed to.

I hope this Volvo checks out OK. Can't wait to put it to the test tomorrow!
