Tailgate won't open 87 740 wagon

Wife's 87 740 wagon tailgate won't open, tried the key and the little lever
in the back. Am I in for some contortionist type stuff in the back to get
this thing open??? TIA dino

I've had this issue before. The rubber seal appears to stick to the boot
lid. Just keep 'working' it it will go. When you've done that get some
baby wipes and clean the rubber seal. It (sort of) did it again a couple
of months later (last week in fact) and a mate suggested using WD-40 (or
similar) on a wrag and wipe it on the seal. So far, so good.
