Hello Group,
Does anyone know if a B-W 35, (M35 in volvo speak), from a 140 will fit
a 164 that was also equipped with a BW 35?
THanks,
george.

If I remember well, it will fit without any problems.

thanks, just trying to confirm this before getting the wrenches out. the
factor is the output shaft, and its details.

Didn't the 164 use a BW-55?

Generally you can use this rule of thumb - pushrod motor = BW35,
overhead cam = BW55 or AWxx. There were a few B20/BW55 and B21/BW35
combos produced in '76 and '77, but none sold in US/Canada.

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)

afaik the 164 version is a lot stronger internally, and with a bigger
