My V70 is blowing dark smoke on heavy acceleration - I've had timing problems with the pump in the past, the dealership "fix it " - only for it to slip again at next service. Any experience? - blocked injectors, worn rings, timing?

Cheers,
R

I had the same problem last summer with heavy smoke under full acceleartion
together with rough idling.

My smoke problem came from a vacuum leak. The small white plastic tube from
the intake manifold to the EGR controller was not connected. Also check
for leaks on the pressure side of the turbo.

If problems were rings the engine will consume oil. Injectors might need
a cleaning or completely changed depending on the milage on the car.

Best regards
