Interesting.  It looks like Ford is responding to GM's current promotion
 but without doing it widely.

It's the standard X-plan, he's just somehow offering it to other people...
Don't know if it will actually work. I can't get the neighbours and friends
deal with my X-plan (only myself and family)... But I don't work for Ford, I
get the deal thru the auto parts OEM - Magna, which I work for.

The GM thing is just another of there ways to lower the price of the car,
without actually lowering the price of the car... you could get the same
deals for the past few years with incentives and negotiating.

Another interesting twist I just learned about is that Ford is paying
it's employees a bonus for every vehicle they get someone to buy under
the program.   This from yesterday's Wall Street Journal:

"Separately, Ford said on Friday that it will offer its U.S. workers and
retirees up to $1,000 if they can get friends and family to buy vehicles
using special employee discount deals."

Helps Boost Auto Maker's Sales", by Lee Hawkins Jr.

Probably explains why the bloke advertising on Ebay is promising to refund
the bid price - he'll still be quids in!
