Hi;

Is the exhaust system the same on a 1992 and a 1995 960?

I have a Stainless one on my written off 92 I want to put on my 95
Volvo 6Cyl 960

The Same car but for the interior upgrade.

I notice all the back end is diiferent on the 95 model to the 92 one.

You will need to carefully examine the two to see if they are compatible.
The hangers may be in different positions as the rear suspension is
Independent on the 1995. The rear spring is a flat Carbon Fibre element
which fits across the car. On your '92 there are two coil springs and
Nivomat shock absorbers. Your '95 will also have Nivomats possibly a
slightly different pattern.

I had a similar problem when fitting the stainless steel exhaust from my 760
saloon onto my 940 estate. The exhaust fitted perfectly but it's hangers had
to be altered.

All the best, Peter.

Hi all;

The Q referred to the 960 Saloon,  Early 960 Estates are revamped 745's

I have changed the Exhaust between the cars (92 - 95) no problem.
Oh - other than the weight of the back box, phew.
I had to be carefull of the 'O' ring between the cat and first box

The Rammer car went under the rear bumper so the 'S' exhaust outlet
pipe took must of the crash impact, so orf to the Stainless Steel maker
to get it fixed.

Regards
Ian
