i have just fitted a towbar and 2 sockets, for caravan, is it possible
to make the dashboard trailer lamp to flash when caravan conected/

would there be a wire in the boot ect.
or is it more involved that just conecting a wire. i have fitted a
bleeper in the boot and now been told to connect the l/r indicators
and tail lamps to the input side of the bulb failure device to stop
the lamp coming on when caravan connected.

cheers pash

On my 945 ('96 MY) it only needed the appropriate flasher relay to be added
in place of the original. Mine was however prewired for towing.

All the best, Peter.

Assuming that the 850 works in the same way as the slighter later V70, this
is not right.

The indicators are not wired via the bulb failure device, so you can tap
into the cable where it goes to the lighting cluster. You don't need a
bleeper in the boot - the dashboard lamp is sufficient confirmation that the
trailer lights are flashing. The flasher unit senses that it's flashing 3
lamps rather than 2 (plus side repeaters etc.) and causes the dashboard
trailer lamp to flash.

Glad you've sorted it - but it would be better if you said so in the body of
the message - rather than adding to the title!
