264 engine swap

GDay, I have a 1997 264 with a dead engine and proposed swapping it with the
4 cylinder from a 1985. I will swap the auto transmission as well. Looks
like all the engine bay tanks, hoses and radiator etc will change over. Are
there any issues with the tacho and speedo, as I wanted to retain the 1977
dash etc?

You should transfer the speedo drive gear from the transmission, the tach
will probably need to be modified, IIRC there's a resistor change but you
could just as easily replace the whole tach with one from a '79 or earlier
240.
