Car Forum / Volvo Cars / December 2005240 "chirps" when putting into first gear
Just bought a 1993 240 5-speed wagon and on the drive home noticed an occassional chirp/squeak when moving into first or sometimes second gear. It doesn't always happen and it is very quiet and quick. Anyone have any ideas of what this might be? Thanks! Sometimes I get this too. I assumed that it was a tiny clutch noise, maybe from some slipping? It only happens when I'm pushing it a bit. I don't think that these cars are exactly peppy if you know what I mean.. I've had my 240 wagon ('89) for about 3 years and this noise has not developed into anything bad (so far). |
