Parking lot damage to 93 945 drivers side tail light..Clear and amber lenses
broken. clear is available from many sources.amber does not seem to be
available. Any source for the amber lens or do I need to replace the entire
tail light unit.

Thank

I think that you need to replace the whole lot as the Amber lens is not
replaceable on it's own. Of course, if any of you know better..... fine, no
problem. Have a happy Yuletide over there.

All the best, Peter.

That's correct, only clear is available separately, seems to fall off
most often. Mine just fell off a few days ago but it happened when I
closed the trunk lid so I was able to simply glue it back on.

You can often find repair kits at auto parts stores, where you can make
a patch for the hole in the lens.  The appearance is not quite up to
that of a new part even if done well, and can look really bad if done
poorly.

(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)

FYI information. What I have learned.
1. Only clear replacement back up lens offered seperately.
2. Both OEM and aftermarket entire light units offered for sale
3. Price varies greatly for same item. Web search turned up the following:
New aftermarket unit $120 at local independent Volvo shop, $75 at FCPGroton,
not offered by IPD and $41 on ebay.
I ordered from ebay source. OEM unit was $135 at FCPGroton. Probably OEM
would be better build and does come with sockets if needed. If the ebay unit
turns out to be poor quality I will let you know.
