V70 "Reduced Performance"

Hi,

about 3 or 4 times lately the message "Reduced Performance" (or is it
"Performance Reduced"?) has popped up on the info centre on my late 2000 V70
2.4T (c 57K miles) accompanied by - surprise, surprise - reduced
performance!

This seems to happen at very low speed (thankfully) and a couple of times
the engine has actually stalled. When switched off and restarted, everything
seems OK again. I'm a bit worried now as it happened on start up the other
day first thing in the garage. It did start, though it took 3 attempts to
lose the message.

Does anyone have any experience of this or ideas as to cause or do I need to
get it diagnosed by a Volvo specialist?

Thanks,
martinr

Is for the New York City Firemen who lost their lives on September 11,2001.
The official count is 343, but there was also a volunteer who lost his life
aiding in the initial rescue efforts. And I will never forget them as
long as I live,
nor should any American.
