My 93 940 turbo died while I was sitting at a stoplight this morning..it
started up again and then died yet again...it started again and ran fine all
the way home in city traffic. I'm wondering if I should be worried....car
has 191,000 miles on it.

Seems to me you should pull the FPR and re-solder the connections.  Common
problem in 740/760/940.

That's right, Pierre, Fuel Pump Relay is a good culprit, a lesser known one
is the Radio Suppression Relay, (which should have been called the Injector
Power Relay).

All the best, Peter.

Fuel pressure regulator.

Pull the fuel pump relay, pop the cover and have a look at the bottom of
the circuit board, if the solder joints look cracked either fix those or
replace the relay. There's a few other things that can cause stalling
like that too, you definitely want that fixed or it could leave you
stranded.

Mine did the same thing last week. Twice on the highway, once on a
neighborhood street, and once at a stoplight. Each time the worknig period
was about half of the previous working period.

I bought a new fuel pump relay ($50) and installed it. Piece of cake, the
car hasn't stalled since, and only $50. Now that I have a working car, I
will solder the old one and keep it for the time when the new one cracks.

Many many thanks to you guys for telling me about the FPR...I ordered one
from FPC Groton for $20 plus $7 for shipping...IPD wanted $43....why?
Anyway I installed it this morning and took the old one apart and yes the
solder was cracked so I'll resolder and keep it as a backup.....again thanks
guys!
