It is difficult to swap engine in Volvo 740 form B230F to 2,5 or 3.0 form Volvo 960 (S90). What witch gear box or other components? all the best... You would be better off swapping the car for a late (post '95 model) 960. The 2.5Litre version was available with auto or manual gearbox the 3Litre only with auto. It is a more complex engine and runs on Motronic 4.4 Fuel/Ignition system.
