Starts great, smooth, no gas odor, grandmother driven. no binding,
tires ok, no smoke... well in normal driving, perhaps when revved high
some black. Any short cuts to trouble shoot this brick. I have heard in
town figures in thelow 20's, If I can get that it will save the car. On
advice I've cleaned the AFM should I open it to check for dirt, bad
joints? ta.

I get right around 20 even with most of that being a 3 mile commute.
Something is wrong there, but I don't know what. Does the turbo boost work
okay?

seems to, when I put the foot to it the boost goes about 1/2 into the
boost zone but I shift( the automatic trans shifts) around 3000-3500
rpm. I'll have to double check a bit later ( car's not here), but
that's my recollection.
