1991 740 a/c problem

Hi everyone,

My a/c is not turning OFF. I can have the a/c on/off button selected either
way (on or off) but the air coming through the vents is always cold.

If I have the heater dial turned full right (hot) or left (off), the air may
sometimes be hot, but is more often cold.

Any ideas?

Is the AC compressor spinning? Perhaps the clutch has siezed?
