s70 click noise

I have a volvo s70 that has been experiencing a "click" sound whenever
I turn on the AC. It starts at short intervals ( about 1 ever second ).
As the engine keeps running the sound has a larger gap between
"clicks". The AC is still cool, so I have no idea what's going on.
Also, the engine has been running a little louder. Any ideas?

You're A/C has a leak and is low on gas. This will slowly get worse,
and you'll lose cooling entirely. You'll probably already notice that
the A/C will not be as cold as it used to be on a really hot day.
