Hi all, I have a 1998 V70 XC (automatic transmission) where the gearshift doesn't seem to stick properly in place. The button on the front never "pops out" and the shifter can freely move between park and the other selections. I've never had any problems with this, but with Volvo's "commitment to safety" it just seems a little odd that the car could be shifted into, say, reverse from drive at any time. WD40 has fixed it! I was afraid of an expensive trip to the dealer, but the WD40 seems to work. I ran a couple of short errands yesterday, and the gearshift worked perfectly.
