Yep... stolen.
They break a window and yank it from under the glove compartment. Next

Sounds like the ECU to me. I've paid $75 US for one from a wrecking yard
(you-pull-it yards are usually a lot cheaper than that) with a 30 day
warranty. 30 days doesn't sound like much but if it works 30 days it will
proabbly work 30 years.
Did I mention how much I despise thieves? The sick part is that the thief's
computer - or the sucker he was selling it to - is probably just fine.

I've never even heard of an ECU being stolen, that's really bizarre,
especially for a nearly 20 year old car, 240s aren't exactly rare.

It shows up from time to time in the Honda forum. It does seem odd for a
Volvo, though... especially a 240.
