Hi chaps

Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the rear self-levellers on a
1991 960 saloon?  I am trying to save money here 'cos I am broke but the
suspension is flatter than a boyband's singing.

If so, can you tell me the best way to adjust it, please?

Many thanks

Nivomats are not adjustable and are expensive to replace.  If you
replace them with conventional shock absorbers then you need stiffer
main springs.  Some of the Volvo aftermarket specialists offer kits
consisting of new springs and conventional shocks for doing this.

I don't know of any cheap solution to your problem :(.

Here is a listing for the replacement springs:

And for shock absorbers compatible with the conversion:

Personally I think that the KYB shocks are a bargain.

Of course if you want more Nivomats, they are available .... at over
US$250 each:

Deep sigh.  8-(

I was hoping for a cheaper solution, so its teeth-gritting time and dig deep
into the beer money I suppose.

Thanks for the info, John, very useful.
