Every day thousands of cars, electronics, jewelry, art, collectibles,
tickets and much more are seized by the government or put in auctions.
Car-Auction has created an extensive database full of these auction
opportunities, giving you the opportunity to bid on many items for up
to 90%  off their retail value.

All they would have to do is list something like a ratty old Datsun 210
for $150 (plus $1000 auction fee) to be within the law, IIRC.
For new cars, list a new car for a good price, with the closing time
ten minutes after posting, with son have final bid done automatically.
