My Check engine light came on indicating some emissions problems but
the engine is running quite nicely.
I have followed the instructions from www.volvospeed.com and Bay 13 --
I have read the engine code and I get 1-1-1 indicating No Stored Fault
Codes. I erased all the codes anyway but the Check engine light is
still on. I disconnected battaery (negative) for two hours and when I
connected the battery, the Check Engine light immediately came on.
Does that indicate a rusting/ loose wire or other hardware problem?
Since the OBD1 is indicatind 1-1-1 (No faults), I don't thibk it will
help to connect it to the computer at the Volvo dealer for $85. Please
help with any suggestions.

Are you sure it's the check engine light and not the service light? (
don't ask how I know this)

Is for the New York City Firemen who lost their lives on September 11,2001.
The official count is 343, but there was also a volunteer who lost his life
aiding in the initial rescue efforts. And I will never forget them as
long as I live,
nor should any American.
