I find that the "plastic" material covering the steering wheel is losing
the surface where my thumb is placed during driving.  Has anyone any
ideas of perhaps a product to stop further wear which is not as
unsightly such as wrapping it with tape

Same thing has happened to the steering wheel in my 1999 S70. And I
thought it was leather... I plan on buying an aftermarket wheel
wrapper from Canadian Tire. They actually have some nice ones. A bit
of a kluge but it'll do.

Is a leather wrap available that will fit it? I got one from IPD for my
car and it really made quite a difference, it looks pretty close to
factory as well.
