Looking for ideas on this one. Simuteanously (or even at the same time)
heated seats, heater blower, AC, recirculation switch and heated rear
window - ie. all the buttons above the radio have gone off. The indicator
lights don't light and the switches are not functioning.

Checked the obvious fuses but they seem intact and some of these functions
share fuses with other - still working equipment. Some of these seem to have
a common earth point behind the instrument panel but not all.

Hope somebody can help with this puzzle.

TIA  .......

Now they're working, now they're not - intermittently working sometimes -
more often not, a mystery???

The ignition switch is a pretty common failure on the S40s.

(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)

O'well £35 for a new ignition switch and no change. Had the car to an
auto-electrician seem to be a problem with the circuit-board behind the
centre console (a mere £450 to replace from Volvo). Looks like a scour of
the breakers is in order next ....
