My son locked his car by depressing the interior door lock, closed the door
and then couldn't get it unlocked with either of his two remotes (one with a
new battery) or keys. Any help solving this problem will be greatly
appreciated.

Problem solved. The door lock actuators for the driver's door and the rear
driver's side door were bad. The dealership wanted $325 per door to replace
them! A local independent shop did both for $379 (parts were ~$250) and had
the job done in less than a day.
