Can oil fumes get in the fuel mixing chamber, and can they make it out
to the Mass Air Flow monitor and fowl it?
My car started having problems starting right after my flame guard got
clogged and blew out some seals.
I pulled the MAF the other day, and it had a very light coat of oil on
it, it looked like. Could it possibly be getting fowled from the air
filter side?

I haven't personally seen it happen, but I suspect it's possible. I've heard
that replaceable oiled air filters can fowl AMMs.
