1998 v70 Backup Light Issues

I've got a 1998 V70 automatic with reverse lights that operate
intermittently. Does anyone know where the switch is located? On top
of the trans, or in the car itself?

I'll have to go to my garage to get the manual to be sure, bure im
certain that the switch is located by the shifter in the center-console.
The switch is on the manual tranny.

It's part of the switch that is mounted on the transmission, under the
air filter box, at the end of the shifter cables.
