1991 Volvo 240 heater hose replacement by firewall

One of the two hoses leading into the heater core by the brake master
cylinder has a leak.  Am I seeing it wrong or is the only way to
replace this hose involve taking off the intake manifold?   Any tricks
or suggestions?  Thanks

You can replace them with the manifold in place, but it's certainly easier
if you take it off.
