If you are looking at a 90-100k mile car you either want to see written
evidence of injector replacement, or have a spare £650 for the job.
On the rest of the car, look for clonky front suspension, and body
electronics glitches.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for that - does this ( replace at 100K miles) go for my current 5
cylinder 2.5TDi as well ? It has done 167,000 miles, and to my knowledge is
unlikely to ever have been done. I was exploring the possibility of doing it
myself ( remove / take to injector refurb place / re-instal ) where they
quoted me around £30 each for their work / parts, if it needed it - they
would test first for about £7 each and not do any that didn't need it which
sounded fair.
Does the D5 use different more expensive injectors I wonder ?
Thanks,
Nick

Yes, all the bushes of the shock absorbers, on all 4 wheels, where
broken around 100,000 km on my 850. Clonky suspension, back
and front. The parts were not expensive, but the front ones have a
little work to disassemble those springs.

The problem can't be seen without disassembling.
For the back shock absorbers you need to remove the floor carpet
and look at the head support of the shock absorbers.
For the front shock absorbers you need to remove the large top
nut and the big washer to see the broken rubber bellow.
