Do any of you use these generator pulleys with the fan on them?

I would like to get one to use in hot weather to help get the heat out
of the engine compartment and to aide in cooling the alternator.
My concern is that the fan blades might come loose and fly around
causing damage.
In cold weather I want to use the stock generator pulley without the
fan on it, since I want the engine to warm up fast.

the pulley's "fan" is only to help feed some air through the generator to
aid in cooling it... it does nothing for helping engine cooling, and won't
remove heat from the engine compartment... if the engine compartment is too
much more than ambient, you have issues that are allowing hot air
recirculation, and a pulley of any type won't help that.

It was used on the stock Mexi beetle, that and the low rotational speed
makes it plenty safe in my opinion.
