I replace the gearbox drive shaft oil seal on my
G2 16v yesterday,
everything smooth except the followings:
After removing the drive flange from the gearbox,
I find the "brass ring" which is behind the flange
spring was broken.
Its quite difficult to locate it in the VW parts
diagram.
Anyone know the part number of this brass ring ?

Thanks

Hi,
Some information missed in my previous post,actually I
found this parts arrangement order when I removed the
flange:
Flange-->Spring---> Round metal cap (which for holding
the spring end)--->Brass ring (which
broken)---->Bearing--
Does  the  Thrust Washer mean  the "Round metal cap" or
"Brass Ring" (both of them are behind the spring)?

Thanks!

Dave.

    The brass ring is #19 - part #020 409 374.  The "round metal
cap" is the thurst washer (#20).
