On the old Rabbits, I used to change the rear mounts more than the PASS side
mounts and rarely any of the others.
Of course since this Rabbit is 24 years old, it might need all of the
mounts. ;-)

I was thinking the second Rabbit which was a GTI with only 129,000
miles on it got a new rear mount. I had to reseal the leaky engine, I
swapped out the drive axles as the boots were torn, and I do think I
replaced that rear mount as it was so covered with gunk that it could
not have been good for it.

My '83 Audi 4000s ('83 VW GTI engine) is almost "broken-in" and running
sweet now with just 240K miles on it. <g>
IMHO rust is one thing that usually "kills" the old VWs or Audis.
