Product review: Polyair Springs07 Nov 2009 13:21 GMT4
Just to be different I thought I might write a quick review of an
after-market product I tried out today, and to be a complete whacko it *is*
car related :)
For those who don't know (or those who do and couldn't care less anyway)
Nine news: Toyota stuck accelerators07 Nov 2009 12:03 GMT38
Just saw a segment on Nine news about a recall in the USA on
Toyota's & Lexus's because of the accelerator getting stuck
under the footmat. Played some footage from a 911 call from
someone whose accelerator was stuck who ultimately crashed,

Sonata key/auto-shifter interlock.07 Nov 2009 11:26 GMT8
Small things, but nifty, all the same.
I parked the car, and had not put the T-bar into 'park' from reverse. I
switched the key to 'off'' and attempted to move the key around, to remove
it. The key wouldn't budge. After a few seconds I tried moving the shifter

Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner07 Nov 2009 04:44 GMT28
Is it snake oil?
Manufactured for Subaru, in Australia, by Bar's Leaks (snake oil
purveyors from way back) it's part of the 12,500km service schedule
listed in the "Warranty and Service Handbook".  Strangely, it doesn't

Windscreen replacement21 Aug 2009 01:47 GMT1
Need to replace the front screen in the 4runner and as there are several places that can do the job,
I'm wondering who uses what quality glass. Many screens I see these days are severely flawed from an
angle (Very wavy and obscured vision looking out the screen to the left hand ...

Thanks to Mr B and Boost for finding this.  (NSW RUH imparts the three

Thanks to  the strong fight we as 4WDers have all put up against VSI 50 - in conjunction with the

Steering Damper23 Jun 2009 08:34 GMT6
Want a steering damper for the 4runner but was wondering if its worth buying something like OME or
EFS or just go Toyota.
The genuine ones are way smaller in diameter etc but it its not up to 4x4ing then Id go for an after
market unit such as EFS or the like.
12V 4WD Battery Lifespans - What is really good value?.21 Jun 2009 02:27 GMT31
My 1994 landcruiser diesel's original battery lasted for eight years. My
wife's 2003 Toyota Echo now going on 6 years is still on its original
battery, so clearly 12V batteries can have quite a long life, but all of the
replacement batteries I have had for the landcruiser have ...

but has anyone else had issues with running equipment off an inverter?
Looking at a 1000Watt modified sine wave unit. $280 ...
