The viral emails with safe driving tips are going around again.  "If it

The alternator was getting hot with the engine shut off (eventually ran
the battery down to zero). Since I suspected it was causing an annoying
squeak anyway, I bought and installed a new alternator. Imagine my

'94 ThunderChicken LX V8, 70k mostly city miles. The 4.6 has seeped a little oil

How does the Ventilation System work?05 Sep 2010 17:55 GMT9
My 97 F150 has started doing a thing recently where the engine load/throttle
position causes the ventilation system to wig out.
I thought the vents were closing down, but I think they are just being
redirected to the Defrost setting. The settings are controlled via vacuum,

The a/c on my 2001 Ranger XLT (3.0) has slowly but surely begun
blowing less and less cold air. The system works fine otherwise.
What's involved in recharging it? I'm dating myself when I say that my

I have just purchased a one-year-old Focus 1.6 TDCi.  I was assured it had
had an oil change, but on checking the dipstick, I noticed that the oil was
black. I have been told by the dealer that this is normal with diesels; can
anyone comment on this?

The odometer and trip meters on my 1992 series 2 EB falcon have both stopped
