Mazda 929 Broken Timing Belt06 May 2008 15:51 GMT7
Anyone experience a broken timing belt on a 1988 929 engine?   Son's car
just had this happen and we are wondering what the chances are that things
(pistons valves)  'survived?  I am assuming that this is a destructive
engine.   Car was only going about 15 MPH when this happened.

How long can a rotary engine run on its original seals before they need
replaced/rebuilt?
Dashboard Light Failure10 Apr 2008 13:30 GMT2
Can anyone advise how to remedy a light issue on Mazda 6 please?
The lights on the dash illuminating speedo etc used to drop to half power
when side or head lights were activated.
Now they practically disappear completely.
WTH is a "5TH Gear Switch"?28 Feb 2008 19:38 GMT12
Had this happen on my Nissan, and now on the Mazda. On the 240SX, a friend
said I was driving down the road with my reverse lights on. I found two
switches on the tranny, swapped them and the lights were good. The other
switch was directly opposite the reverse switch, so I figured ...
Fast Idle after replacing 929 timing belt05 Feb 2008 17:52 GMT1
Well after replacing broken timing belt on 1988 929 I thought I was OK.
Good compression tests, engine runs.  Good power on the road.  I thought
that I was very lucky not to have any damage.
BUT its now idleing at about 2500 to 3000 RPM even when warm.    Any ideas
Mazda RX-7 Newsgroup?11 Jan 2008 19:19 GMT2
I have just entered my second childhood.  Some would call it a middle aged
crisis.  Either way I once owned a 79 RX-7 GS and had to sell it when our
first child was on the way.  He is now 25 and I found an 83 GSL in great
shape for 24 years old.  I do need some guidance and ...

Time for New Tires on the NC. Ideas?11 May 2008 23:58 GMT7
Well, the second set of Michelins on the '06 Sport has come to the end of
its useful life at less than 28K miles. Obviously pretty bad tread life. It
seems providential that the government wants to give me $600 so that I will
feel stimulated. A free new set of tires would be ...
Pads/rotors10 May 2008 17:49 GMT12
I was just in getting an oil change and the dealer told me I needed new
front pads and rotors. (96 Miata with 70k miles on it, street use only)
Now I've had no noise, squealing, fading, pulling, any brake issues at all.
I can understand it being time for pads, but why would the ...
CW values for the NC08 May 2008 05:22 GMT17
I've been reading an article on cars and their CW values and what it
means for efficiency. The article is in German but I thought the figures
given for the MX-5 may be interesting so here it goes.
Top down: 0.45 cw

'Top Hats'value?04 May 2008 22:11 GMT10
Anybody have a clue what a used set of 'top hats' (I believe that's the
term) should sell for? I've got a set available and a person interested so,
I'm just wondering. Is there an approximate value (relative to new) like 50%
or 33% of what new would cost that is considered a ...

white marks and/or damaging the membrane.
Tasers03 May 2008 02:24 GMT12
Remember awhile back we had a fairly lively discussion about the use / over
use of tasers by police? Well, this month, Patrick Bedard discusses this
issue in his Car and Driver editorial. He even discusses the Austin Texas
video and the one (I believe in Colorado?) where the guy ...

Anyone have any info on which is the best (relatively inexpensive) tire
gauge???  I have both a Victor digital and unknown brand pencil type.  They
agree at 30 lbs and are 4 lbs off at 45.... I'm not sure which one to
believe...It would be nice to find a link to some test results ...
