New CEO to tackle smaller entry-level Porsche as first challenge11 Jul 2010 17:53 GMT1
Porsche is facing decline sales of the Boxster and Cayman models. Sales in those lower segments will have to expand if Porsche is to meet its goal of selling 150,000 units per year by 2013.

Battery?06 Apr 2010 18:52 GMT4
I drive my 2001 996 Carrera about 2,000 miles per year, all short haul,
in-town driving, about twice a week.
The battery is three years old.  When I turn on the ignition, before
cranking, the voltmeter shows 11 volts.  The cranking is not sluggish, but

Plugging a tire30 May 2010 02:59 GMT3
Repairing a tire with a plug; doe it impact the speed rating for the
tire?
Any firsthand experiences?
Thanks.
Anybody with AC experience?29 May 2010 05:02 GMT1
I'm interested in servicing my own AC.  The car is a '79 SC, but was
upgraded(?) to a rotary compressor, all new components and 134a.  It's easy
to find the refrigerant, but I'm wondering if I should also get a vacuum
pump to pull the moisture out of the system before charging, ...
Removable hardtop16 Apr 2010 18:44 GMT1
I am looking at buying a 2003 Carrera cabrio.  Do these models have a
removable hardtop?  If so I assume that they were options.  Thanks.

VW to refocus Porsche05 Sep 2009 16:55 GMT3
I thought VW taking over Porsche would be a disaster, maybe not.
According to reports VW will eliminate the 4-doors and concentrate on
building 2-door sports cars.  Now if they just stay away from parts
bin cars and 914 style horrors.
RIP: Porsche26 Jul 2009 05:02 GMT1
Porsches's insane attempt to take over VW has completely backfired.
Now VW looks like it's getting Porsche.  Say hello to full on parts
bin cars.

turn off the heat!31 Aug 2010 05:26 GMT5
It's 98 outside here in NY (July 5, 2010) and it would be nice to turn the
heat off in the '87 924 S.
Is there a fuse ?  The control sliders long since stopped working. To make
matters much worse the windows stopped working some time ago too.
944 n.a. CASIS light illumination : variables11 Aug 2010 17:48 GMT-
was wondering what variables enter the equation to turn the CASIS
light on?  i.e. at the computation level.  i was assuming it was just
RPM's and gear.

1987 944 S 5 speed stuck in reverse.30 Jul 2010 18:40 GMT1
Hey. My friend had his 944 S 5 speed stuck in reverse, & he "popped"
it hard out of reverse, now he has only 2nd, & 5th gear sometimes. The
other gears aren't there, & they don't grind. It's like the shifter is
really loose now. I haven't looked at it yet. Is there any common

Just took out for summer driving fun, it has not been used for 2 years. It
has 157,000 on odometer.  These problems were not present when last driven,
nor from 2002 when acquired  Gas gauge showed full and about 15 miles on the
trip meter. After about 200 miles on the trip meter the ...
power steering leak31 Mar 2010 11:51 GMT2
I have a leak somewhere in the power steering. The leak only occurs
when the wheel is turned to full lock in either direction. It seems to
be directly above the right hand sway-bar bushing.  Does anyone have
any idea where it is coming from.
Fuel Pump Woes22 Jan 2010 05:57 GMT3

run. The previous own said that there was a bad wire to the fuel pump
