Don't screw around with welding up the release arm - Fiero Store has the GOOD cast ones.
Check (very closely!) the tips of the release fork. They are prone to wear and cracking. If it does crack and fail, the tip can act like a projectile and blow a hole in the tranny.... want photographic evidence it can happen?? ;)
Do the CV output shaft seals while you're there.
Tighten up the bushings on the tranny for the shift arms.
(and the groups not dead... it's just resting...)

Anything going on here? Don't tell me that the Fiero group is dying... I haven't finished restoring my 84 Sport yet! Don't go!!!
Clutch is not disengaging, and I am pulling the engine this weekend and getting it out. What else do I need to replace whilst I am in there? I have the steel pedal, I have welded the small cracks in the clutch arm, I am going to try and find new fork shaft seal. Anything else? 64K miles, runs fnatatstic.
