Whistling transmission

And it ain't whistlin' Dixie.

When I first start out driving my transmission makes a whistling noise.
 After a while the noise stops.  The car doesn't seem to have any
problems with the driveability, performance, etc.

1994 540i with manual transmission.

Signature

Anything not nailed down is mine.  Anything I can pry loose is not
nailed down.
