It's categorized under "Body/Air Conditioning->A/C Sensor" and located smack-dab center in the bumper, but not really visible unless you look under the car from the ground.
Which also answers the other question, yes, it does affect Auto A/C operation as its used for external temperature feedback.
A quickie flashlight inspection didn't see any obvious crud on it, but I plan on yanking it in better light and inspecting it. It's a $20 part, so replacement isn't a big deal.

The manual says that the outside temperature sensor is located "in the front bumper", but where?
Our Pilot's sensor is either damaged or very dirty and won't read any temperature above about 83 F. I'd like to at least clean the surface of it and inspect it before paying $$$ for a tech to look at it.
Is the climate control system affected by these misreadings? I'd swear it is -- it was 95 F over the weekend and it seemed that I had to crank the temp down to around 63 to get the comfort level I typically associate with a setting of 68. But we're not used to these kind of temps this early in the year, so it could very well just be my imagination.
