I probably first heard the noise around 70k miles. I had the car serviced at 70k, and the mechanic said there was ample pad left.

Sometimes I get a mid frequency brake noise when braking. It's not a high pitched squeal, it sounds like a french horn. Seems to happen usually at very slow speeds, when I'm braking lightly. I don't think it's rust on the pads, because this can happen even after I've been driving for a while. Anyone know what the cause is?
