1996 200sx se-r

I got a '96 200sx se-r today and I want to switch the gear shift knob, I can't seem to figure out how to get the old one off. I am assuming it is factory. Any ideas? I don't see any screws, it is leather covering rubber. Thanks!! Tiffany
